Paula West, a San Francisco favorite, brings her smooth style of jazz singing to the Rrazz Room this month. Performing with the George Mesterhazy Quartet, Paula offers shows during a six-week stint, Feb. 2 through March 14. Tickets are $35–$45. Shows are at 8 p.m., except for Sundays at 7 p.m. Special Valentine’s Day shows have been added Feb. 13 at 10:15 p.m., and Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. Valentine’s Day with Paula West will do anyone’s heart some good.

Will Durst brings his brand of political satire to the Rrazz Room on Feb. 8, 15 and 22. Tickets are $25. Shows are at 8 p.m.

The Jersey Boys at the Rrazz Room present the one-and-only Dionne Warwick for one night at the Castro Theater, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27.50–$79.50. Nikki Thomas of radio station KBLX-FM (102.9) will host the show.

Faye Carol, another chanteuse well known to Bay Area audiences, is celebrating Black History Month with a night of the blues and jazz at the Rrazz Room, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30.

Singer-songwriter Liz Kennedy brings her group, The Clean White Shirt Band, to the Rrazz on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $32.50. Her musicians are widely accomplished session players – Joel Jaffe on guitars, renowned producer-engineer of Studio D (The Call, Ringo Starr, Maria Muldaur, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Carlos Santana); Eamonn Flynn on keyboards (The Commitments, Elvin Bishop); Billy Johnson on drums (Santana, Maze); and Don Bassey (Volker Strifler Band) and Jim Rothermel on horns (Boz Skaggs, Van Morrison, John Prine). 
  
Disco queen Gloria Gaynor plays the Castro Theatre for one night, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27.50–$69.50. You’ll recall her hits from the seventies and eighties: “I Will Survive,” “Never Can Say Goodbye,” and “I Am What I Am.” Her appearance is part of her 30th Anniversary Tour.
