Bay Area nonprofit seeks nominations for Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
Do you know a woman who has founded her own business here in the Northside? Has she been successful despite the barriers for women business owners by exemplifying how owning a business is beneficial for women? Has she had a positive impact on the Northside community and advanced her field through innovation? If so, you may want to nominate her for the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Women’s Initiative for Self Employment is seeking nominations for these extraordinary women entrepreneurs throughout the Bay Area, and as many as 12 will be chosen in San Francisco alone. For over 20 years Women’s Initiative has helped over 17,000 women start their own businesses through business training programs, loans, and ongoing mentoring and coaching. They are one of the largest microloan organizations for women in the United States.
Deadline for nominations is May 31. Winners will be recognized at an event in October and featured in publications by Women’s Initiative. Visit www.womensinitiative.org for additional information.
