The San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Performances co-present a special all-Brahms recital by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter with pianist Lambert Orkis on Monday, April 7 at Davies Symphony Hall. It has been eight years since Mutter performed in the Bay Area; her last recital (with Orkis and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott) was with San Francisco Performances in February 2000.... Meanwhile András Schiff is in the midst of a two-year cycle of Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas, also at Davies. The cycle, part of the San Francisco Symphony’s Great Performers series that began last October, continues in April with performances of Sonatas Nos. 9, 10, 11, 19 and 20 on Sunday, April 6, and Sonatas Nos. 12, 13, 14 and 15 on Sunday, April 13. Schiff will sign copies of his CDs in the Symphony Store following both concerts.
Anne-Sophie Mutter; András Schiff: Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave. (at Hayes); tickets $25-$81 at 415-864-6000, 415-392-2545, www.sfsymphony.org and www.performances.org. |
